    My watches

    My current watches ...

IWC 3536-03 I never wanted this and was actually thinking about getting the black titanium version.
NoiseyBoyUK - Dick was kind enough to show me what these looked like in the flesh by letting me see his white/silver faced version and that was that...
This gets plenty of wrist-time - weekdays and weekends. A keeper, and a watch I'd consider getting the 'sister' Black+Steel version as well.

IWC 3714-17 My collection until this point had been all black Omegas (x4) .. I needed something a bit more fancy, non-Omega, with a white face, and this ticked all the boxes.
    Bought new from Iconic.
Worn less frequently than I thought it would be. Even after adding a deployant which it should be supplied with if you ask me.
A contender for replacement to a 5001 possibly or a serious upgrade to GO Seventies Panorama Date

    Omega Speedmaster MKII Racing Dial.
I'd not owned anything vintage and had been collecting a few Omegas up till now, so this made sense to get something old, and still looked quite chunky.
Picked up from SC - and was in excellent looking condition. Case is stunning.
I personally preferred the new look so had the original face and hands replaced with new ones from Ofrei.
Has become a weekend watch - not worn as much as I'd have predicted. But, a keeper as I don't think I could get another in such good condition, and I feel more attachment having restored it.

The Omega PO 42mm is a classic - great presence, and very versatile. I bought it on orange bezel with bracelet, then bought black bezel, mesh, rubber with orange stitching with deployant to make it feel like I've got 3 watches for the price of one.
Not sure if I'd go 45mm or not if I was buying again.
Could be flipped for a new version - that said .. this is my goto weekend watch for something that feels bullet-proof and goes with anything.
I'm very temped to wait for the new blue version.

Omega Aqua Terra - first purchase from SC.
Fantastic work watch. Wears slightly bigger than the quoted 42.2mm due to slim bezel.
Given how often this has been worn it has really stood up well!
Thinking about adding an omega brown croc strap to this to give a bit of variety. Another keeper as not sure what I'd replace it with and haven't seen many available if I wanted another.

    Seiko SKX-009 bead-blasted - The perfect beater for gardening/DIY.
Bought for a bargain from SC.

So I've got a bit of everything I want for now and if I didn't change anything (which I haven't for a few months!!), then I'd stil be happy with the same collection a year from now - which is the first time I can honestly say that.

Temptations as mentioned .. Something Blue: Either GO Seventies Panorama Date, or New Omega Blue PO, something Rolex (I said I never would) - GMT Pepsi, something non-cyclops - I need to learn more about these. IWC 5001 - although this makes less sense as I want to expand beyond IWC. IWC 3536 Black+Steel - White version is high on my current rotation list, I'd love to have the black as well ... hard to justify.

    Re: My watches

Excellent collection. Do they do the Portuguese in a non-chrono version without the eroded numerals? It's lovely as it is but imagine if it had an alternative version :)

    Great collection!
I think I like the Planet Ocean the most, simply because it's so versatile. However, the Aquatimer is a (really) close second.

Cheers all.... and getting a Rolex might make sense - would have to be an old one - like the 14060 that just went on SC :-(
The 16610/16660/16710 look good as well... anyone know where I can find a buyers guide to help me work out best one to get?

(Yes .. I can search here but searching for 'Rolex' is pretty much an overload of information).

IWC have really piqued my interest with the 5001 Portuguese. The in-house movement and display back take the new model up a step from the older model, and given the price increase of many of the other makes, it is actually not as outrageously priced as it could be. I would probably look for a used one anyway, and these now start to look pretty good value compared to a new Rolex!

How hard is it to replace the bezel from an orange version ?
