Hello and welcome :)
What do you have, any pics?
Cheers Jim
Hello everyone. I am just getting interested in watches and have some nice ones that are quite old now and I have trouble getting the batteries changed in them.
I hope to learn a lot from here as there seems to be a wide knowledge base.

Hello all of you.
I dont have any pictures as I dont have a camera, and to be honest I dont want one! My grandson brought me this computer and I have had trouble getting used to that.
It was my grandson who found these chatterboards and he signed me up to this one after he had a look around and told me it was safe enough.
Hello and welcome to the forum. Would like to see some of those old watches if you do manage to get your hands on a camera!
Regards
Paul
A very warm welcome to the chatter board

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

How do there :salute:
If you can't take photos you could tell us what sort of watches you have. If you explain what difficulties you are having getting new batteries one of the knowledgable folks here may well be able to suggest a solution.

Hello again. I lost my password and had to wait for my son to turn up again. Right, you wanted to know about my watches, here are some of them, a Rolex Air King, it has got a black face, I bought that new in 1958. A gold cased Omega dressy watch, my wife bought me that in 1962. I have an old pocket watch as well somewhere and some electric watches as well.

P.S. Tell your grandson to put up some nice pictures for you. It'll help with sorting out batteries and also satisfy our curiosity!

Hello from Denmark..... Tell your grandson to take som pics of your watches. We looove pictures
Hello and welcome
Welcome to a great forum!
If you can master your computer to get here a camera will be a doddle
Photos also reduce excessive keyboard tapping
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
from now on I will refer to all forums as "chatterboards". 8)
If you don't mind me asking, how much did the Rolex Air King cost in 1958?
Thanks Jim

There are some electric watch afficionados on the board who will definitely be able to advise you on which modern batteries work in the old hummers as well as where to get advice/servicing help for them.Originally Posted by Frisco Kid
Someone asked me how much I paid for the Rolex. To be honest, I cannot remember, I know I could have got another car for the same amount of money.
Hello, Grandson here.
We found this in my grandads dressing table drawer. The case looks like Gold. Grandad doesnt remember buying it, he thinks Nanny might have bought it for him.

That's a lovely looking watch.
Hopefully one of the rolex experts will be along shortly to tell us what model it is. :)
Cheers jim
Does not look like there are any Rolex experts here?
Welcome. The chatter board feels a bit like an episode of the Waltons today!
My Grandson has just shown me that there are other bits to read and comment on.

It most probably has one of these inside (nice big balance there). Yes the case is gold. They are not as desirable as the sports models. In fact they are not desirable at all. In general the gold content of the cases is worth more than the whole watch and that's why who find them uncased and sold separately.

Costume jewellery. Ouch!!!
