I was all ready to vote no until I saw your photos and actually I think it looks OK. I would prefer other options above the strap that you show, but strangley it doesn't look as mismatched as I expected.
OK, I have this SKX007 and a new Di Modell Rallye strap and, although I love them separately, I can't decide whether they're right together.
What do you think?

*Unless it's a waterproof strap, vintage watch or a Panerai, or you like to wear totally wrong strap and watch combinations.

Diver's on a rubber for me
Yes.
How many actually dive with a diver in any event?
Diver type watches are for getting wet and dirty. Nato for me.
F.T.F.A.
You can get Kodiak treated straps, allow immersion for upto 24 hours in seawater (but would you survive it for that long?)
Tim
For me a .
I usually swim with my divers, so it's a bit impractical :)
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Suprisingly looks ok and if its not going to go near water why not ? But for me i prefer them on a Oyster bracelet myself
cheers
Andy
No, not at all. In fact I don't even like them on rubber, only NATO or bracelet
"A man of little significance"
My M1 looks best on tan leather (IMHO) so a yes to divers on leather. Usually end up wearing the ecodrive on nato to the pool though...
Battered old leather - yep, why not...
Why on earth not? The only problem is if the watch is actually being used for diving or other 'wet work'.

Bizarrely I think this 007 is the victim of its own versatility. Of all the watches I've owned and flipped, and there have been many, this one has never been in danger of being sold. I have a super-oyster, jubilee, Z22 and numerous natos, all of which look fantastic on this watch. I've never tried a leather and that's what intrigued me so much about putting these together.
I've just put the head onto my black, red and grey nato and it does look much more at home 8)
Thanks for your votes and comments so far.
That combo doesn't work, though that's not to say that leather straps and diver's can't be matched together fullstop. In fact, if matched well, the combination can look very cool indeed.
i voted no, i tend to prefer a diver on rubber, bracelet or nato as other have said.
now, a waterproof shark leather might be interesting....

marchingontogether!
I voted yes. Without looking and assumed it was the "Di Modell chronissimo". But it's a no no, on the rallye driver. Its not chunky enough or a divers strap.
ish
Bought a TAGSuper Pro a couple of weeks ago, didn't like the Tag bracelet, so I put it on a tan leather strap - looked pretty good.
BUT.........
Saw a beadblasted lumpy on SC, thought hmmmmmm......
It arrived this morning totally transforms the watch.
So, my conclusion is YES, you can put a diver on leather, but steel looks better IMHO (don't like rubber).
Of course leather is good. Always.Originally Posted by Dougie Melville

I don't have a problem with diver watches on leather. Personally I prefer a bracelet, but leather is okay if it looks good.

Hell Yes, they all were at the beginning:
Would look cool on a NATO.
I'm a bit OCD about divers belonging on waterproof straps/bracelets, so I'm afraid it's a no from me.
Yes for me, although I do prefer my diver on a rubber or bracelet. The strap you have it on is a bit more sporty as well which helps.
The Heuer on the previous page looks great on the leather, as does the PAM above, possibly because the watches look well aged so suit the srap (to my eyes).
Generally I think it doesn't work though, so it's a no from me.
It works...
Put it on whatever you want.
Absolutely not!
Why not?
If it looks good to you then that's all that matters.
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
OP: nah.
This ones not so bad though.Originally Posted by europa

Yes if it's comfy and looks good.
No if you're going diving, swimming or going to a gtg.
I've been trying to get some leather action on my PRS-3 lately, but everything I try ends up looking shite. Sticking with rubber or steel from now on.
leather is fine on divers as long as you have rubber and even bracelet as well - changing straps is essential to keep the watch interesting, I change most of my watches straps every couple of months.
For me the answer is two leather NATOs - one black and one brown - and a nylon NATO for getting it wet. Easy to change and no need to remove the spring bars.
A look for all seasons.

David

No problem as long as you do not enter the water with your leather strap!
Most of us probably never get their watch wet; even less swim or dive with them, I guess.
Looks are probably more important than practicality in this regard.
Marc
Yes. Do remember to switch to something waterproof when circumstances demand it though.
I'm not exactly a diver fan, but I think it just doesn't look right with a leather strap. It takes away some of the watch's personality.
I like it, in fact have just ordered one of those Rally straps just now.
:-)
no should always be on rubber or a bracelet
Diver & leather is not meant to be but if you like it why not
Guys and Girls,
Thanks for all the great comments + / - about this, I had no idea so many people would get involved or even find the topic interesting!
For what it's worth, it's been on the nato all day and feels like that's where it belongs. Just gutted I don't have anything to put that lovely Rallye strap on. Oh well, looks like I'll have to buy another watch
Cheers all,
David
Hell yeah!:
And:
Unless you intend to dive or swim, then why not have a leather strap on your diver.
Several dive watches come on leather from the factory.
