SOTC - I think the flipping has ended

After a couple of years of some quite rediculous volumes of buying and selling it appears I've come to a natural halt. Financially I'm not is as good a place as I was two years ago so the more expensive pieces are a thing of the past. I now have a small collection of watches that I wear in pretty much equal measure and I'm really happy with them. I'm also in a position where I can't see any of them being sold for the following reasons:

    - Smiths was my 40th gift from my wife so that isn't going anywhere ever.

    - 6309-7040 is, for me, the very best diver you could possibly find at its price-point so pointless selling it. Plus I love it.

    - DW-6600 has sentimental value. I've had it 16 years and it has been a workhorse all over the world for me.

    - Pulsar Mil Chrono - a fantastic watch that cost me £60 new. Worth more to me as an every day wearer than what I'd get for it on SC.

    - TAG F1; a 90's beauty. Bit of a cheat this one as it's actually my wife's but wears great under a shirt cuff for work ;)

So there you go, looks like this lot will be staying with me for a while. Happy days

    David

Same here mate, I'm pretty settled too. I've moved away from being a collector and have decided it gets worn, or it gets sold.

That means I've a couple which need to hit Sales Corner, but after that, my visits will be for viewing only.

    Nice set there David.

Nice varied set - although I guess you don't feel the need for a 'dress wathc (neither do I - no need in the 21st century - and the Everest will do for that). Thanks for sharing.

Tony that 6309 has more presence and more soul and gives me more wearing pleasure than any of the higher end watches I've owned. So no, you can't!

Actually I'm conscious that a dress watch is missing but the Everest on my cherry Toshi is as dressy as I need right now.

    Cheers,

A nice collection you've got there. I really admire your focus - I'm not that mature yet.
Btw, the pulsar looks positively awesome on the GGB strap.

Thanks Steve. I enjoy seeing what's around on SC but I haven't felt any of those old urges for a while now which is good as a lack of funds would prevent me buying anyway. I'm certainly not naive though and if finances were better then I'm sure I'd be tempted occasionally.

A very nice set indeed. All different yet all complementary. A watch for every occasion, wear them in health.
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

Lovely collection you have there, icing on the cake being the beautiful 6309.

But surely you don't need both bracelets for it?! Sell me one! Lol...
